Marangu, Tanzania

Marangu is the village at the base of the Kilimanjaro national park. Our campsite was in the grounds of a hotel where all those hiking up Kili stay before and after so there was a real buzz about the place with backpacks piled up in the courtyard and sleeping bags being scrubbed by the washer women. We had a day in Marangu which was spent on a tour of the village. It was very green and tropical with huge banana and coffee plants.
